4th Autumn Meeting of the German Society of Extracellular Vesicles (GSEV)

On October 3-4th, 2021, two PhD students from our team - Karolina Soroczynska and Magdalena Długolecka participated in the Annual Scientific Meeting organized by the German Society of Extracellular Vesicles (GSEV), which was held in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. The conference was entirely devoted to Extracellular Vesicles (EVs).

The GSEV autumn meeting traditionally has the intention to actively involve and bring into focus EV scientists at the early career stage and to drive interactions at the current frontiers of EV research. To this end, five keynote lectures of invited internationally renowned EV scientists were combined with 25 presentations of young scientists selected from the best abstracts. PhD student, Karolina Soroczynska, was also among the distinguished people and at the end of the session of young researchers, she gave a presentation tittled "Detection of arginase containing small extracellular vesicles in biological fluids of endometriosis patients as a potential immunosuppressive factor".

Moreover, the program included sponsor presentations and two poster sessions (27 posters), during which PhD student Magdalena Długolecka had the opportunity to present in the form of a poster the results of her research work on the diagnostic potential of extracellular vessicles isolated from the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and plasma of patients with non-small cell lung cancer. The official part was concluded with and a final round table discussion on the value of the Minimal Information for Studies of Extracellular Vesicles (MISEV) guidelines and pitfalls of EV research. The conference ended with an unofficial part - an evening social event with Mexican folklore in the evening.
